“Privileged and unquestioning Asian Americans have become “complicit” in their acceptance of ongoing American inequality.”

-Vijay Iyer, Musician | The Making of Asian America

In the end, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends.
— Martin Luther King, Jr.

The deafening silence on my social media feed among some of my Asian immigrant friends and family is not only dispiriting but also quite unsurprising. It is not a far leap to connect the dots between colonialism and anti-blackness. Our internalized racism rooted in white supremacist conditioning subsequently led many of us to align ourselves with and assimilate into the majority culture that comes at a dire cost. Hassan Minhaj sums it exquisitely in this video below:

put your money to support anti-racism

Our family has donated to the George Floyd Memorial Fund and the United Way of NYC for their work in raising self-sufficiency in black and brown neighborhoods in NYC. Our business supports the Southern Poverty Law Center.

Black Lives Matter

Know Your Rights Camp - "Founded by Colin Kaepernick, its "mission is to advance the liberation and well-being of Black and Brown communities through education, self-empowerment, mass-mobilization and the creation of new systems that elevate the next generation of change leaders."

The Bail Project - National Revolving Bail Fund is a critical tool to prevent incarceration and combat racial and economic disparities in the bail system.

Campaign Zero - They work to end police brutality by "limiting police interventions, improving community interactions, and ensuring accountability."
